The Shimano Baysteel series of fishing tools are made of high-grade Japanese 420J2 stainless steel, which have passed a 6-cycle corrosion test for saltwater resistance by ShimanoÆs global standards. The Baysteel saltwater fishing tool features a 2-step opening tip that keeps the split-ring wider for easier on and off use. The innovative side-stud split-ring opening device works great on heavier gauge split-rings, and the opposite position used as a release knife cuts line quicker than ever without even opening the scissors. The center cutter has a serrated edge to cut braided-lines and the handle grip is made out of elastomer material, which provides increased grip friction when your hand is wet.
